Overview
Blend is an industry-leading digital loan origination point-of-sale platform powering banks, credit unions, IMBs, and mortgage servicers. About 1 in 6 American mortgages, roughly 20% of the market, originates on Blend. In 2025 alone, lenders processed $1.3 trillion in loan applications on the platform.
Challenge: Users need answers, not Excel files
Lenders have questions: Which loans are converting? Where are borrowers dropping off? How fast are we closing? Blend had the data, but they hadn’t closed the gap — giving users a way to find the answers when and where they needed them.
The reporting feature let customers select a date range, apply filters, and download an Excel file. With no built-in data visualization, dashboards, or drill downs, lenders were left to manually analyze the data and figure out which KPIs mattered for their organization.
Any ad-hoc request for deeper insights was fielded by Blend’s CSMs and product data teams. For example, a question about loan-officer-level profitability or pull-through rates could take 7 days or more to answer, long enough for the question to change by the time the report arrived.
Even then, the data only told half the story. While Blend has point-of-sale data, lenders also need to know how long loans sit in processing, where underwriting stalls, and what each loan costs to close. All this data sits in CRM systems, cost databases, and other platforms Blend wasn’t connected to. Lenders were pulling data from four or five systems on their own with no single source of truth.
The work was repetitive, turnaround times were painful, and Blend’s lenders didn’t have the data they needed to keep up with a market where interest rates fluctuate multiple times per day. Blend needed a faster, smarter way to get insights into their lenders' hands.
Solution: Embedded Conversational BI and AI-powered Dashboards
The need for a strong analytics solution was clear, but the path forward wasn’t. As Mukesh Jha, General Manager at Blend, points out, it would easily take years for the in-house engineering team to build the intelligence customers need. And because analytics isn't Blend's core business, an in-house build would mean costly product-roadmap tradeoffs.
Blend needed a partner who could make self-serve analytics a reality for its more than 300 lender customers, so their own team could stay focused on what they do best. That’s when they found WisdomAI Embedded Agentic Analytics.
“Our lenders used to wait days for data and insights. Now they ask in plain English and get results in seconds, without ever leaving Blend.”
– Mukesh Jha, General Manager at Blend
Blend evaluated several embedded AI analytics platforms, but WisdomAI was the only one that cleared all four of Blend’s requirements:
Enterprise-grade security and on-prem deployment: Blend’s lenders are highly regulated and extremely sensitive about where their data goes. WisdomAI deploys on-prem, so lender data never leaves their environment. RBAC, RLS, and CLS are enforced at query time in the data layer (not the app), with JWT, SSO, and tenant-scoped isolation built-in.
No hallucinations in a regulated industry: Mortgage origination is heavily guideline-driven, and hallucinations are unacceptable. Blend’s team ran extensive evaluations on known questions and datasets. WisdomAI’s responses were consistently reliable, with the Adaptive Context Engine grounding every answer in lender-specific business meaning.
Federation across the lender’s stack: Blend’s lenders needed to see beyond Blend itself to understand their business: their loan origination system, ERP, and more. WisdomAI federates all of those data sources alongside Blend POS data and surfaces insights without expensive pipelines or data duplication into a warehouse.
Embedded, not adjacent: Loan officers already live inside the Blend Loan Officer toolkit. WisdomAI embeds natively, so lenders get modern AI analytics without leaving the Blend experience or being forced to learn a new tool.
“Standing up our own AI Analytics solution would have taken years, and AI analytics isn't our core business. We need our team focused on loan origination point-of-sale. WisdomAI gave us as a secure, enterprise-ready AI analytics experience that could be deployed on-prem and shipped inside our product fast”
– Mukesh Jha, General Manager at Blend
Results: Near-instant lender insights
The integration with Blend's platform took less than a week to go live. Within months of deployment, WisdomAI cut time-to-insight from seven days to near-instant, freeing Blend’s CSM and data teams from ad-hoc work and giving lenders a full view of their business that Blend alone could never deliver.
Seven days → near-instant time-to-insight: Lenders ask questions in natural language and get answers immediately. Instead of waiting on a report, they ask, see, and act in the same flow without ever leaving Blend.
Federated visibility beyond Blend’s sphere of influence: Because WisdomAI combines Blend’s POS data with each lender’s loan origination system, ERP, and cost data, lenders get their full portfolio performance and P&L — not just what’s happening inside Blend.
Save-and-share dashboards inside the Blend product: Lenders generate AI-powered dashboards on the fly, save them, and share them across their organization. Dashboards are accessible to teammates and become a shared management asset for the lender.
Blend’s data team became strategic partners: Automating routine analytics work freed Blend’s CSMs and product data team from constant ad-hoc requests, shifting their role from data-puller to consultative partner, and giving them time back for higher-value work.
“A lender that can see their entire business in real time makes better decisions, moves faster, and ultimately closes loans more efficiently. And because WisdomAI combines Blend’s point-of-sale data with a lender’s loan origination system, cost data, and ERP — our lenders get a complete view of their portfolio performance and P&L, not just what’s happening inside Blend. That’s not just a better dashboard. That’s a competitive edge.”
— Srini Venkatramani, Head of Product, Technology, and Client Operations, Blend
Looking ahead: Analytics Agents and deeper federation
For Blend, embedded AI analytics is just the starting point. Blend is preparing to deploy Analytics Agents that automate the recurring intelligence work its lenders rely on: daily pipeline summaries, branch- and loan-officer-level performance digests, and proactive nudges when a loan stalls or a rate window is about to close. Agents will deliver fast, repeatable, decision-ready insights to lenders without anyone having to ask.
In parallel, Blend is expanding the data WisdomAI federates on lenders’ behalf by connecting more loan origination systems, finance systems, and operational sources so the embedded experience inside Blend keeps becoming the single place a lender goes to get insights on their entire business.
